To become a Mason you must meet certain qualifications,
and be accepted by a Lodge. The qualifications are simply:
Our Fraternity is proud of its philosophy and
practice of "making good men better." Only individuals believed to
be of the finest character are favorably considered for membership.
Every applicant must advocate his belief in the existence of a Supreme
Being (atheists are not accepted in the Fraternity).
Finally, the members of the Lodge vote by ballot.
To be accepted, the ballot must be unanimous.
To become a Freemason, you must ask.
Many men believe that you must be invited to join
Freemasonry. Not only is this untrue, but in Pennsylvania,
Freemasons are not permitted to recruit or solicit applicants for
membership. A person must ask to join the Fraternity.
If you are interested in learning more about Freemasonry
or becoming a Freemason yourself, please visit one of our
Lodges so that we may assist you. Pennsylvania residents can find and visit the website of the
Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania
where all the information is available to you regarding membership
requirements and Masonic Lodges in your area. |
