| Old Business: | |||||||||
| The DDGM secured 50
pamphlets from Grand Lodge "The Making of a Mason" and distributed them to
the members present. The rest will be distributed at the November
Board of Governors meeting. Mike Huck, P.M., updated the members on the District website with regards to the CHIPS program, email addresses, and the placement of various photographs on the site. Mike is also going to create a contact list for the District Funeral Team. The DDGM will send a yearly letter out to all the area Funeral Directors inviting them to visit the District Website and with a list of contacts for their benefit. The DDGM also reviewed some of the opportunities for the fundraiser programs as well as the success of the district CHIPS program. Ed asked Mike Black P.M., District CHIPS chairman to forward statistics to him so he may share them with the membeship. |

| The DDGM discussed the
upcoming Block party (Chaired by David Wells, SW & Steve Higgins, JW) which
may include a CHIPS program, an outside vendor or vendors, 7th Masonic
District Picnic and a possible joint venture with the Scottish Rite Valley
of Reading - Fall Festival. Date and location to be determined. Ed discussed the new ritual requirements by Grand Lodge starting in 2008 for the advancement to Worshipful Master: must have one degree on the books, know the business of the Lodge, the opening and closing charge, and 1 degree charge. The 7th District will observe these requirements and proficiency in two Degrees. Sam Kalbach, P.M., suggested each year the Worshipful Masters of the six Reading Lodges be issued a key to the Masonic Center building so they may have access to the building as needed. The DDGM and several members present felt strongly that with proper notification to Bruce Gaston, P.M., (Director of MCF) we currently have that ability to enter the building as required, and in a secure manner as well. |
